Unfortunately I'm no longer teaching and have no plans to do so in the future. However you can easily find me running the SoCal XC League which is
where I'm putting all of my energy these days, mentoring xc hungry P3 pilots and above! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions but the 3 schools I currently recommend are:
Choosing a paragliding school is a bit like choosing a family, they are the ones that will support you for years to come as you grow as pilot. Also schools have different styles of instruction and you should find an instructor that you vibe well with. Here are some questions to ask while finding a school that is right for you?
- Atmosphere Paragliding with Marcello DeBarros (San Bernardino)
- Expanding Knowledge with Jérôme Daoust (Inland Empire)
- Fly Above All with Chris Grantham (Santa Barbara)

- What is the usual sign-off time to P2? (longer is better, flying is dangerous and you want the most instruction possible!)
- What is your requirement for purchasing my first set of gear? Do I have to go through you or will you help me find second hand gear online? Or does it have to be all new gear?
- What maneuvers do you teach to sign-off from the P2? (more is better!)
- How many sites is it likely we will fly during my course? (more is better)
- What is your policy for flying with your school after P2 and while pursuing my P3?
- What do you offer for classroom time?
- What's the student to teacher ratio?
- How many teachers do you have? Will I be consistently working with the same one?
- How many days a week are you training? What's your requirement for attendance while training (how much of a time commitment do you require)?
All proceeds of Stellar Paragliding donated to the Wings of Kilimanjaro project!
In February of 2013, two hundred paraglider pilots from around the world will hike to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and fly off from the roof of Africa in a once in a lifetime adventure.
